Why do you participate in the Winter Walk?

We participate in Winter Walk as a family in an effort to shine a bright light on some of the inequities that plague our city. Realizing how fortunate we are, as a family, to have a roof over our head, it’s important that we understand our responsibility to advocate for the same for other families. Last year was our 1st time participating in The Winter Walk – and we were inspired by the stories, the journeys, and the successes of so many. We hope to participate in this important event for many years to come.

What do you hope others who come to the Winter Walk gain from the experience?

Housing insecurity drives so many other aspects of one’s health, prosperity, and ability to thrive. We have an obligation to do what we can to address the inequities that we see every day, and I am proud that so many others realize the importance of these efforts. If you come, I promise that you will leave inspired by the strength of so many.
